    The real cost of your free mobile phone

    In economics these challenging times, we all like to think we are getting something for free, or at least if not for free, then, that we get a bit of debate.

    Mobile phone contracts to consumers only see this. A brand new mobile phone, packed full of magical technology, which costs you several hundred pounds if you are buying directly from the manufacturer, you may be a big discount, or perhaps, depending on your contract conditions willing to sacrifice, for free.

    All you have to do is sign up for a contract supplier to pay a monthly subscription for ten, twelve or twenty four months, and the new is your phone, and you also get a set amount of call time, and some Extras, such as free literature.

    If you are going to use these texts and call minutes anyway, this seemed a good plan. Well it can, but you should still do your sums carefully. Take the new Nokia N97, Nokia phone that will sell £ 499. During the launch, you can get a free N97 mobile phone when signing up for 700 minutes each month to pay £ 35 per month, provided you are willing to sacrifice and pay it for 24 months. So will the phone for free, especially the cost you £ 840 over time (24 months at £ 35).

    Or another way to see this, will pay £ 840 in installments. The phone will cost £ 499, so different, 341 pounds is your phone call costs for 2 years (bringing you to use the entire 700 minutes per month and no more). Which works out at around £ 0.02 for one minute.

    In addition to 700 minutes talk time, there are 250 new texts included in the package, and if you are a high user of the original message is one of the benchmark to compare the package price. All in all. that seems like a good plan!
